#1 The Outland Firebowl 893 Deluxe Portable Propane Gas Fire Pit

Outland has proved itself to be a popular brand with quality products that hold up over time.

This is by far one of the most popular fire pits on Amazon; Outland sells over 4500 units a month.  It’s not hard to see why.

For the price, you get the steel fire pit, stainless steel burner system, lava rocks, a 10ft hose, chrome knob for adjusting the flames, a cover, and a carry kit. The unit measures 19″ x 19″ and is 11″ high; it weighs 23 pounds.

The burner is rated at 58,000BTUs, and it’s CSA approved.  In most areas, it’s approved to use during most campfire bans.

Fire Safety Tip

#2 Heininger 5995 Portable Propane Outdoor Fire Pit

This is a similar model to the Outland, but the flames are a bit prettier.

Let’s to the point here.  I’ll go into more detail later, but overall this model is very similar to the Outland 893.  The main difference is that the flames produced by this model are larger and a darker gold color.

I personally find this a bit prettier, but beauty is subjective.  Is it worth the additional cost?  If you’re planning on turning this into the focal point of your patio space

This unit is a little bit larger than the Outland (19.25″ by 19.25″ and 11.5″ high), but it weighs a pound less at just 22lbs.  This makes it slightly easier to carry around.

It comes with a 10ft hose and lava rocks.  It’s 58,000BTU burner burns smokeless and is CSA approved to use during most campfire bans.  As mentioned before, this may be the unit to buy if you’re planning on keeping it mostly at home, especially since it doesn’t come with a carrying kit or cover.

Heininger sells over 600 units monthly, and this fire pit is rated at 4.8 out of five stars with almost 1000 total reviews.   Reviewers say it’s easy to use, even though it has to be lit manually.  Reviewers are also impressed by the amount of heat produced.

Overall, this fire pit will be a gorgeous addition to a patio space and a practical help on cold nights.  Backed by hundreds of monthly sales and great reviews, this is a quality purchase sure to last for a long time.

#3 Bond Manufacturing 67863 Aurora Fire Pit

We've included this model for the color choices and the unique carrying system.

This is the only fire pit we’ve reviewed so far that has a choice in color: bronze or black.  Plus the cover doubles as the carrying feature!  This way you only have to keep track of one extra piece, which I find super helpful.

The unit is 18.5″ in diameter and 14.7″ high; I appreciate that the flames (and the heat!) is a little further off the ground and a little closer to me.  Plus it is only 18 pounds and super easy to carry around.

The unit is smaller and produces slightly less heat: 54,000BTUs but that’s a small sacrifice to make for the significantly lighter unit.  This unit comes with the lid/carrier, pumice stones, a flame regulator knob, and a 10ft hose.

This model is sold over 1500 times a month and is rated 4.8 out of five stars with over 500 reviews.  Reviewers say that simple features can make a big difference.  The lid/carrier keeps all the rocks in the fire pit during transportation, and this unit comes with a steel ring to keep the propane tank upright and steady.

Reviewers also say this model was easy to set up and was better than expected.

Overall, this model’s middle-of-the-road price, clean burning set up, and attractive design (especially compared to the other units we’ve looked at today) make it a quality purchase.
